    Iceland <3

No words. This vacation was absolutely the perfect getaway and  the best part about it was that I got to share it with my cousins. We got lost, we relied on our trusty Huawei, we ate what we could creatively muster up, even without any spices. We were without parents and it was exhilarating to taste that kind of freedom.  The black sand beaches are one of the things that Iceland is known for and walking upon the shore was surreal. They warned us not to get too close to the waves, but there was something mesmerizing about standing right at the edge and letting the foamy waves creep up slowly.  This walk was one of those things I probably will never forget… only because it was so long haha. We walked for almost an hour with the same view, white clouds and blue sky, a sliver of the ocean, and black sand. We didn’t see the plane until we were a 5 minute walk away. It took forever, but it was a nice way to talk to each other.  Diamond beach was another unforgettable place and regrettably, we couldn’t stay longer. It was too cold! It started raining too…

    Revolver

So! I’m at Revolver cafe here in Vancouver. It’s in Gastown and I can literally see the water as I was walking over here. I just bought a drip pour-over with local beans roasted from Victoria and a homemade raspberry coffee cake. I love the coffee cake! It’s crumbly, but the cake itself is moist and soft – AND not too sweet. The tart raspberry flavor at the end is just right, too. I am pleased with my order lol.  The coffee is a bit on the acidic end, something I don’t really like most of the time. But I kind of like it. The undernotes are more my type, which is the nutty, roasty flavor. I haven’t quite found this combination out in LA since most of the acidic types are more on the fruity undertone end. The walk over here was COLD! As in I felt my face and I’m sure my brain is experiencing some type of hypothermia because it’s hard to move my legs! As I got to the cafe, I was crazy relieved to finally get here cuz I don’t know how much further I could’ve walked. The whole vibe of this cafe is the…

    NYC!

Knocked one off the bucketlist! Finally made a trip to NYC with the bestie 🙂 It was long overdue and I enjoyed every moment. It’s different when you’re traveling with a friend – way different than with family. Not that it’s a bad thing, but it’s definitely a nice change. It was 6 nights and 7 days of dead legs and food babies 😛 The city, the atmosphere, it was amazing. Spent a pretty long time there and I felt like we only caught a glimpse of what NYC had to offer. It was extremely crowded though! The introvert in me was drained at the end of every day. I’d do it again though. Totally worth it. We went to all the touristy stuff! Statue of Liberty, Central Park, New York Public Library, Grand Central Station and a bunch of other places I’m forgetting already. And Pizza! Can’t forget the pizza! Julianna’s in Brooklyn was one of my favorites by far, with Suprema’s being second 🙂 Caught this sunset gradient on our last day. So glad I decided to lug the DSLR to catch this! Ended the trip with a bang with a night skyline view of New York City…
