The Adventures of a Local Scaredy Cat

Yesterday, I believe I had quite an adventure. You see, my mother had asked me to buy these tamarind candies. So she sent me to Cash and Carry supermarket, and to my surprise, I did not find them. Of course, right?? God was telling me, you’re not going to get them that easy. So, we went to Ong Pin, Aila, Kuya Alvin and me, which of course is pretty scary considering that all the people in that area are very sketchy and the odor is extremely disgusting. It’s like a mix of peepee and rotten garbage everywhere, and so of course I would make sure every step I took was a safe step on dry land. (Cause you know you stepping on a wet spot may mean an intolerable smell all the way home. )Well, I’ve only been in the area a couple of times with my mommy and of course, I had the great responsibility of remembering the way to the market where we bought the candy. Having the great sense of direction that I have, we almost got lost. Fail. I found myself saying, “ummm this is familiar go through here,” and “I’m pretty sure we turned through here.” Epic fail. Anyhoo, we did manage to find the little market only to find out that they only had 14 cases. Well, I needed 20. Where was I supposed to get the other 6?? *sigh* So we walked, past Eng Bee Tin, past some other places where I finally found this local supermarket. So we squeezed past a couple of cars and found our way in, and in the foreign candies aisle I found what I was looking for. And there waited hundreds of people cheering and clapping as we paid for the last 6 bottles of candy and we lived happily ever after. HAHAHA. Yes, this was my little adventure and yes it is considered an adventure. Just kidding. Anytime I am outside of my comfort zone and outside of my territory, I consider it an adventure. Well, it was a good experience and a very good memory for my first time being out in Ong Pin with my cousins. I had fun.
